What personal data we collect and why we collect it
At checkout, your contact information is collected for the purpose of processing your order and to set up your account on this website. This information may also be used for internal sales and marketing purposes. We may also collect your credit card number, expiration date, and security code. This information is securely passed to our payment gateways, Stripe and PayPal, to process your purchase. The last 4 digits of your credit card number and the expiration date are saved by our site to use for reference and to send you an email if your credit card will expire before the next recurring payment.
Any information provided through a form, comment, chat widget, or email may be used for security purposes such as spam detection, as well as internal sales and marketing purposes. This includes your IP address and browser user agent string. Web browsing activity and geolocation may be tracked to improve the website and for marketing purposes. Some of the information we gather from you, including but not limited to first name and city, may be displayed on the website for other viewers to see. We use cookies to track some of your activity on our site including logins, visits, page views, and video lessons marked complete.
All information about you and your visits on our website are retained indefinitely. This is so we can provide better customer service and more relevant marketing. For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We will not disclose your personal information without your consent.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Your profile picture may then be visible to the public in the context of the actions taken on our site, such as leaving a comment.
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Web pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
